Hey everyone! I built my PC during the pandemic, and it's running smoothly with a Ryzen 5 5600X, 32GB Corsair DDR4 RAM (I doubled it), and an EVGA 3060 12GB. I'm currently using an MSI G241 24" monitor. Recently, I've been thinking about making the switch to 1440p gaming, but I can't afford a full system overhaul right now. I was wondering if I could just grab a used GPU and a 27" 1440p monitor while keeping my other components for now. Would that work? If yes, could anyone recommend a good entry- to mid-tier graphics card and monitor that would fit the bill? I'll be playing games like Star Citizen, Cyberpunk, and RDR2.

How much are you looking to spend? Knowing your budget can really help recommend some options for both the GPU and the monitor. Just share a ballpark figure!
Yeah, your CPU should handle 1440p just fine. Upgrading the GPU is key for higher resolution gaming. If you're getting 60fps at 1080p, your CPU will manage the same at 1440p. Just make sure to pick a capable graphics card.
Thanks, that’s a relief! Sounds like I might be able to do this without breaking the bank.

Good point! I’m thinking around £250-£300 for a graphics card (new or used) and about the same for the monitor.
