I'm in the process of switching to cloud backups and need your help. I've been checking out different solutions and had my hopes up for Cove, but it requires an agent on each machine being backed up. Unfortunately, I have some virtual machines, like a Cisco wireless controller, where installing an agent just isn't possible for now. Have any of you found effective agentless cloud backup solutions that work well?

Do you need to back up the entire appliance, or just the configuration? If you can back up the appliance as a whole, that might be the way to go, but make sure to test the restore for the config later.
You could consider just backing up the config, or use a method where you back up the VM to a file on a system where you can install the agent. That might give you some flexibility without needing to alter your existing setup.
That's a clever idea, I hadn't thought of that! Thanks!
Are your VMs on a local hypervisor? If that's the case, it depends on which one you're using. VEEAM could be a great option as it supports multiple cloud storage solutions, though I think Proxmox might not have direct cloud support yet.
Yes, I'm using on-prem VMWare. Appreciate the advice!

I have to back up the whole appliance since it's only a virtual machine.
