Hey everyone! I recently decided to uninstall CCleaner after it caused some issues with my network due to a registry cleanup. I've been using it for years, mainly to manage background apps—not just for temporary cleanup, but for long-term blocking unless I manually re-enable them. I'm curious if anyone can recommend a good alternative that offers similar functionality?

Have you tried Glary Utilities? It's a solid choice and offers a variety of features that might help with your needs.
If you're comfortable with commands, you can try this: open cmd as admin and run 'cleanmgr /sageset:99' to set your cleanup preferences, then use 'cleanmgr /sagerun:99' to execute it. It's a bit manual, but might be worth a shot!
BleachBit is another option if you're not just looking to use the built-in Disk Cleanup tool. Just a heads up though, it's important to be careful with the settings—especially the registry cleanup since that can be risky.
The main thing I need is to control background apps, not just clean up files. I need something that stops programs from running in the background regardless of whether I'm using them.

Thanks, will check this one out!
