Hey everyone! It's been almost a decade since I last built my own PC, and I'm a bit lost trying to get my total cost down to around $1500. I've put together a list of parts, but I could really use some guidance and suggestions for swapping out components to reduce the overall price without sacrificing too much performance. Here's my current build:
- AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU - $357.26
- Noctua NH-U12A cooler - $139.94
- MSI MAG B850 TOMAHAWK MAX motherboard - $209.99
- Corsair Vengeance 32GB RAM - $129.99
- WD Black SN850X 2TB SSD - $129.99
- Asus PRIME GeForce RTX 5070 Ti GPU - $749.99
- Fractal Design Meshify C case - $109.99
- Corsair SF750 PSU - $199.99
Total: $2027.14
Any tips for adjustments?

If you're looking to keep the performance level similar but need to slash costs, consider swapping your GPU for the Radeon RX 9070. It's a solid alternative that could help bring your total under $1500. Here's a rough part list that could work:
- AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU - $357.26
- Thermalright RK120 Cooler - $27.59
- MSI PRO B650-A Motherboard - $149.99
- TEAMGROUP 32 GB DDR5 RAM - $86.99
- MSI SPATIUM M480 PRO 2TB SSD - $119.99
- PowerColor Hellhound OC Radeon RX 9070 XT - $719.99
- Phanteks Eclipse G370A Case - $67.98
- Montech CENTURY II 850W PSU - $89.90
Total: $1625.59
This should help you save a decent amount!
If you're investing in a high-end CPU, you might as well go with a better cooler like the Noctua NH-D15. It’s more efficient and worth the extra money. Also, consider the Meshify 2 Compact case instead of the original Meshify C for better airflow.
Also, are you sure you need an SF format PSU? They’re generally meant for compact ITX cases, while your build seems to need a standard ATX case wattage. Just a thought!
Was not going for ITX, thanks for pointing that out.
Thanks, will take a look!
