Hey everyone! I've been using an HP All-in-One for nearly a decade, which has served me well, but it's finally time to upgrade. I've noticed it struggles with video conversion and runs close to 100% CPU when I'm editing and gaming. Plus, it can't handle Windows 11.
I'm not entirely sure where to start since I'm out of the loop on components. What I need in a new computer is: at least double the RAM (currently at 8GB), the ability to run Windows 11 smoothly, support for video editing software like Adobe Premiere, and enough power to play games like Cities Skylines 2, Sims 4, and the Hunter: Call of the Wild comfortably. I'd like it to last for a few years without needing an upgrade.
My budget is ideally around $1000. I'm open to suggestions for pre-built systems or places that could build one for me without proprietary parts. Any recommendations or tips would be greatly appreciated!

If you're looking for pre-builts, r/buildapcsales is a great place to watch for good deals. Wait until you see something with at least a GTX 4060 or a good Ryzen 7 CPU, and you'll likely be fine.
Your budget of $1000 should work if you keep an eye on deals. You might want to ask in r/buildapcforme for a complete build suggestion. Just make sure to follow their posting rules to get the best advice!
For games like Cities Skylines 2, you'll definitely want something beefier than the minimum specs. The recommended spec is Ryzen 5800x with RTX 3080, but be cautious as the game isn't fully optimized and can push any system to its limits!
I recommend checking out PCPartPicker to see some guides on good components. They give great options based on price points. You can adjust specs to fit your needs as you go along. Good luck and happy building!
Thanks for the heads-up on Cities Skylines 2! I'll keep that in mind when looking at specs.
