I'm currently using an Intel i7 10700k with an Asus Z490E motherboard and I've just bought an AMD 9070XT on Black Friday. I want to upgrade my CPU and motherboard but I'm hesitant about the high prices of DDR5 RAM. Any suggestions on what I should consider for my upgrade?

If you're leaning towards Intel, check out some older Z690 DDR4 boards. I recently upgraded to an i9-14000K on one of those, and it boosted my performance significantly without the hassle of DDR5 pricing.
You could also look into getting a Ryzen 5700X3D or 5800X3D with a compatible motherboard. This way, you can stick with your current RAM setup.
You might want to hold off until RAM prices drop. The market can be pretty volatile, and waiting could save you some cash in the long run.
Just keep in mind that if you're looking for a gaming performance boost, you might have to bite the bullet and consider a DDR5 setup. But if you want to stay with DDR4, a used 5700X3D could be a solid choice if you can find it for a fair price.
How much RAM do you have right now? If you’ve got 32GB, consider looking for a DDR4 motherboard that supports LGA1700, like the 14th-gen CPUs. I think that could be a good balance without needing to invest in DDR5.

I was eyeing the i5-14600K too, but I had a tough time finding a decent motherboard for it.
