I'm trying to convert a movie from MKV to MP4, but my last attempt took over 12 hours and I ended up with no audio! I'm hoping to get the movie onto my iPad, but it doesn't support MKV files. What software can I use to make the conversion faster?

If you're looking for a program to convert files, I highly recommend Handbrake. It's user-friendly and gets the job done. Of course, you might also consider just downloading a video player for your iPad that can handle MKV files, like VLC. But if you really want to convert, Handbrake is a solid choice!
Have you tried using ffmpeg? It's pretty efficient and can speed things up by utilizing the codecs supported by your GPU or integrated graphics. Just make sure to run a media info tool on your files to check the audio and video codecs for optimal conversion.
Thanks! I'm currently trying Handbrake from one of the comments in this post. Here's to hoping for good news once I wake up!
