Hey everyone! I'm planning to build a PC primarily for work and some light gaming, and I've put together a part list that totals around $1000. Here's my current setup:
- **CPU**: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 3.7 GHz 6-Core Processor for $130
- **Motherboard**: MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI Micro ATX AM4 for $110.99
- **Memory**: G.Skill Ripjaws V 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 for $67.98
- **Storage**: Crucial P3 Plus 1 TB NVMe SSD for $61.95
- **Video Card**: Asus DUAL EVO OC Radeon RX 7600 8 GB for $329
- **Case**: Deepcool MACUBE 110 MicroATX for $48
- **Power Supply**: SeaSonic S12III 650W for $88
- **Monitor**: LG 24MR400-B 23.8" 1080p at $77
I've included a UPS as well. Prices are up to date and include shipping. Before I pull the trigger, I'd love to hear your thoughts or any recommendations! Thanks!

For a bit more budget, consider switching to a GPU with 12GB, like the B580. And definitely switch to AM5 components for easier upgrades down the line!
If you're buying everything new, I suggest going for AM5 to future-proof your system. Also, 8GB of VRAM in a graphics card is a bit low for 2025; it might struggle with modern games on higher settings.
That’s a good point! If their light gaming means older titles at 1080p, then 8GB might work, but newer games could be a problem.
You might want to look into changing your PSU; the one listed has mixed reviews. Here's a recommendation for a better-rated one you could consider!
Check this one out for better reliability! Link to a good PSU here.
I’d recommend considering used parts to save around $300-400. Lots of the components are affordable enough that even if one fails, you’ll still save in the long run!
I think you should at least upgrade to a 5800 XT, which is just a bit more money. Plus, avoid the 8GB card; it’ll become waste in a couple of years. Maybe wait for the 9060 XT with 16GB coming up soon!
Totally agree! I’d wait a bit before building this system.
I'd suggest saving up a little longer and waiting for better deals or new releases. Sometimes the wait pays off!
Thanks for the new list! What would be a close alternative to the B580? It's hard to find where I live.
