I have a PC that my friend built for me around 8 years back, and it's struggling with even the lowest settings on some games like Marvel Rivals. I'd be surprised if any components other than the case can still be used. I mainly game casually, and since I don't know much about computers, I used Copilot to help pick out parts based on my needs and budget. I'd appreciate any feedback on my proposed build! First, what's your overall budget? I grabbed some parts for a balanced build that might fit you better. You can check it out here: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/Qwjq8Q. It features an AMD Ryzen 5 7600, a solid cooler, and a good GPU like the Sapphire PULSE Radeon RX 9060 XT. It totals around $1405.26 but offers great value for gaming. Keep in mind, the prices include shipping and taxes!
I'm flexible with spending. My aim is to stay under $1500, but if an extra couple hundred helps future-proof my PC, I'm open to it.
Pro tip: Avoid relying on AI for your parts list! The 5800X3D is hard to find, and same goes for the 4070 Super. This 7600X bundle paired with a RX 9060 XT will get you gaming well: https://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/BDL_MM00004649. The total for this build is about $1357.33!
I think that 5800X3D is overpriced for your budget, especially if you're aiming around $1000 CAD. You might want to consider an AM5 platform with a 7600X or 9600X. You could save about $200 by going that route and invest in a better GPU like a 5070. Also, a 2TB drive would be a good upgrade over a 1TB if your budget allows!
Here's how I would set it up right now: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/9nMyrM. This way, you can easily swap out parts like the CPU and GPU later without needing to overhaul everything else.
Thanks for the list! It looks solid. I appreciate the future-proofing tip!
This looks like a well-rounded build for mid-range gaming! What made you choose the 9060 XT over something like the 5070?
