I'm a software engineer from New Zealand and I'm looking to upgrade from my company-issued laptop to a PC setup. I mainly focus on software development tasks like running Android emulators and crunching GIS data, but I don't game. Here's the spec I'm considering for my build and I would love to hear your thoughts!
| Component | Spec | Comment |
|:-|:-|:-|
| CPU | AMD Ryzen 5 7600 | Comes with stock cooler which I plan to use |
| Motherboard | Gigabyte B650I AX ITX | First AM5 option I found, not too picky |
| PSU | Coolermaster V SFX 750W 80 Plus Gold | Seems solid and modular? |
| Case | Deepcool CH170 ITX | Really like the compact design |
| SSD | Kingston KC3000 NVMe SSD 1TB | Found it at a good price |
| RAM | ADATA XPG Lancer 32GB DDR5 (2x16GB) | Thoughts?

What about the GPU? I noticed you haven't included one.
I'm planning to go with integrated graphics since I'm not gaming.
Just a heads up, that motherboard only has two RAM slots, so you'll be limited if you want to upgrade later. You might want to switch to 2x32GB modules now while you're at it.
The Ryzen 5 7600 is decent, but it might not handle heavy tasks like Android emulation well. I suggest looking at CPUs with 10+ cores since VMs can consume a lot of resources. Think about options like the 5900X or Intel's 12600K for better performance in these areas. Also, keep in mind that small ITX cases can limit future upgrades like storage and USB ports.
Good insight! I might consider swapping to an AMD Ryzen 9900X.
I assume you're going for integrated as well.
