Hey guys, I'm new to building PCs and could really use some help! I have minimal experience, but I've watched a few videos and done some research on what each component does. I'm struggling a bit with making sure everything is compatible. I've heard that the GPU and CPU need to match well to avoid inefficiencies, and I don't quite understand overclocking. I've put together a part list on a PC part picker site, but I'm not sure if I'm on the right track. My goal is to use this PC for school work, storage for photos and home videos, and some occasional gaming. I'm aiming to play games like Red Dead Redemption 2 or The Forest. I'm trying to keep costs down as much as possible—around $1000 if that's reasonable, but I'm open to suggestions. I think building this PC will be a fun way for me to learn a new skill. Thanks for any feedback!

What's your maximum budget for this build? It would help to know so we can suggest components that fit your needs and keep you within that range.
Trying to keep it affordable is a great goal! Shooting for around $1000 may be reasonable, but prices can vary quite a bit depending on the parts you choose. Make sure to check the compatibility of your GPU with your CPU to get the best performance without overspending.
