Looking for Free Resources to Practice KQL Hands-On

I recently took the SC-200 exam and unfortunately didn't pass. The exam included questions about KQL, and I'd like to get better at it. Most resources I've found require signing up, which isn't great since it seems like KQL isn't as accessible as SQL where you can find a lot of free resources. Does anyone know of any free hands-on practice options for KQL?

You should also consider creating an Azure tenant. There’s plenty of sample data available for practice unless you need to focus on specific resource types. It can help you explore KQL effectively.

Honestly, I just use ChatGPT for my KQL queries. I hadn’t learned it before, but AI has made things so much easier. You can spend your time learning networking or Kubernetes where AI isn’t as prevalent yet, but really, AI can be a game changer for scripting in KQL too!

Totally agree! I used to find Microsoft documentation pretty clunky, but with ChatGPT, I can get my queries done much faster. Just make sure to test them out and correct any errors with the AI’s help. I've not checked out other AI models yet; maybe they are even better.

Right? Using AI is a smart move. Companies should invest in tools like ChatGPT for productivity boosts. Just review everything and you're good to go.

The Kusto team has created a great learning platform at [detective.kusto.io](https://detective.kusto.io/). It offers a hands-on experience that can really help you get familiar with KQL.

You might want to check out the Microsoft Certification Hub for SC-200 study materials. They have a Misc tab at the bottom with a bunch of resources. One key link you should look at is [this one](https://aka.ms/lademo) where you can get some hands-on practice.
