Looking for Game Engines That Use Lua

I'm not the best at programming, but I really enjoy creating things in engines. I previously used Roblox Studio because it's user-friendly, and it comes with a toolbox for free assets. Now that I want to dive into actual projects, I'm wondering if there are any good game engines that support Lua since I only know a little bit from my time in Roblox. Any recommendations?

Lua is often found in lightweight game frameworks and some engines that emphasize scripting. It might be best to start with something simple and 2D before jumping into larger projects. Are you looking more at 2D games, or do you want to make 3D ones?

You're definitely headed in the right direction! But don't get stuck trying to find the 'perfect' engine—that's when things get complicated. If you enjoyed Roblox, you could check out Defold or Love2D. But if you're looking for more control, Godot could be a good fit. What kind of games are you thinking about building?
