I'm considering making the switch from console gaming to a gaming PC, but I have no idea where to start. I'd love some help with a build that fits my budget of about $1000. Also, any tips on what to look for in a gaming PC would be super helpful. I want to do my research before diving in and spending my money.

For your budget, I'd recommend looking into an AM4 build with something like a B580 motherboard. You'll get good performance for gaming without breaking the bank. Don't forget to consider the GPU and RAM when you're planning things out!
Check out this build I found: [https://pcpartpicker.com/list/frchqd](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/frchqd). It's solid for gaming and should fit your budget nicely! Let me know if you're considering streaming later, as that might require a bit more power.
Thanks for the link! If I decide to start streaming, would this build still hold up, or would I need to upgrade my budget?

I think going with an LGA 1700 setup might be better if you're looking at DDR4 RAM. It can give you more future-proofing for your build!
