Hey everyone! I'm working on a new PC build and I'm planning to use an EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 G5 power supply that I bought about a year ago. You can check out the build I'm planning [here](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mj2cck). The PSU should technically be fine, but I'm a bit worried because I'll need to use an adapter for the cable included with the RTX 5080, since my PSU is a couple of years old. I'm wondering if it's safe considering all the other components as well. Would it be better to invest in a newer PSU with ATX3.1, either 1000w or 1200w, which would cost an extra $200-250? I'm already nearing my budget limit, and I still need to cover shipping costs! However, I don't want to take any risks that could lead to something breaking or become a hazard at home for my family. Any advice would be appreciated!

Using the adapter is totally fine! The critical thing about the 12V-2x6 connector is not the adapter itself—it's about ensuring that the plug is properly seated. Just make sure it's inserted correctly and not bent too tightly at the end. You should be good to go!

So it sounds like keeping my PSU is a good idea then? I'll just be careful with the connections, thanks!
