A few years back, my son built his own gaming PC, and he recently mentioned he could use a new video card since his favorite game isn't running well after an update. He pointed me to the "EVGA GeForce GTX 1660 Graphic Card - 6 GB GDDR5" as a slightly better option than what he currently has, with a price tag of around $300-400 CAD. However, I've noticed that the price has gone up to over $500 recently. I'm curious if this price hike is due to availability of that model. Since I know little about graphics cards, can anyone recommend a comparable card that is more future-proof, keeping in mind that he plays BeamNG?

Seriously, you can get a much better graphics card for about the same price you're eying. For $400 CAD, I'd recommend checking out the Gigabyte Eagle OC GeForce RTX 5060. It's much more powerful! If you need to stick to a lower budget, the Zotac GeForce RTX 3060 is a solid option too. Just make sure to check your son's case and power supply before buying anything.
That GTX 1660 is pretty outdated and not really worth buying anymore. If you can share your budget, I can suggest a better modern option. Also, if you can provide details like the case and power supply specs, that'd be super helpful for ensuring compatibility.
Definitely get your son's PC specs before making a purchase! It's crucial to make sure the new GPU will fit and be supported by the power supply.

Thanks for the advice! I found the specs and added them above.
