Looking for GPU/CPU Upgrade Advice Before Borderlands 4

Hey everyone! I'm looking for some upgrade advice. My current setup has an RTX 3070 GPU and an Intel i7-11700 CPU, and it's been handling 1440p gaming pretty well. However, with Borderlands 4 coming up, I've seen its hefty requirements, and I'm wondering if I should think about upgrading my CPU or GPU. I want something that'll be a solid upgrade but also won't break the bank. Any recommendations? Or do you think I should just hang tight with what I currently have?

Consider going for either the Intel 14600K with a 9070 XT or the 9700X with a 9070 XT, or even the 4070 Ti Super for a solid upgrade. These options should keep you good for a while without needing another upgrade soon.

Honestly, I'd suggest sticking with your current setup for now. Don’t rush into an upgrade just because of hype!

For Borderlands 4, having 16GB of VRAM is recommended. A 7600 XT could do the trick, but be cautious because it might not give you a huge upgrade over your RTX 3070 in terms of gaming performance, even though it has more memory.

Yeah, it’s true! Upgrading from the RTX 3070 to a 7600 XT might not be worth it unless the VRAM is your main concern. Just something to think about!

If you do decide to upgrade your CPU, just know you might need a new motherboard too, especially if you stick with Intel. You could grab an AMD 9600X for around $200 and pair it with a B650 or B850 board, but remember to check for BIOS updates first. For GPUs, something like a PNY 5070 is a great value at around $600 if you can find it at MSRP.

Another option is to keep your current GPU and consider the 9070 XT if you're set on upgrading. Just know it's about finding the best bang for your buck!
