Hey everyone! I recently scored an amazing deal on a 4K 240Hz monitor and I'm excited to make the most of it without going broke. Right now, I'm running an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 with a Ryzen 7 5800X3D and 32GB of RAM. I mainly play competitive games but I'm also diving into some new titles like Ghost of Tsushima. I'm looking for suggestions on a GPU upgrade. What do you think?

I recommend looking at the RTX 5070 Ti as a minimum upgrade. I personally run a 5080 and I love it. If you're on a tighter budget, the RX 9070 XT is also worth considering. You could check out some Battlefield benchmarks on Hardware Unboxed for comparisons across different cards.

Try running your 3080 in DLSS performance mode with the global transformer model enabled. Test it out and see if you’re satisfied with the performance. If it looks and runs great, you might want to hold off until the 60 series comes out. If not, then definitely look at getting a 5080 or its super version.

I think you shouldn't rush into an upgrade right away. You're enjoying your current setup, and sometimes chasing the latest performance can lead to disappointment. Upgrading should really be because you're facing issues with new games, not just to max out your monitor's potential.

If you are set on upgrading, consider what fits into your budget and if you're okay with second-hand options. The 5070 Ti and 5080 are solid choices if you want something new, but waiting for the Super refresh could be beneficial. If you're on a budget, the 9070 XT is a good alternative.

By the way, just to throw it out there, I snagged a Rog Strix PG27UCDM for just $600! Deals like that can really help when you’re upgrading components.

Honestly, I’d say go for the 5080 or don’t bother upgrading at all. It's a significant step up and worth the investment.
