Hey everyone,
I'm a novice when it comes to PC building, but I really enjoy gaming. A few years ago, I built my own PC, but I'm starting to feel like my GPU isn't cutting it anymore. I'm looking for some suggestions on good GPUs that would be a solid upgrade but won't break the bank—ideally, something under $700.
Here are my current specs for reference:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600G
- GPU: AMD RX 6600
- SSD: Team TM8FP6001T 1TB
- RAM: Silicon-Power 2x8GB
- Motherboard: Asus PRIME B550M-A
I'm also open to any other upgrade suggestions that would enhance my setup. Thanks in advance!

The 5070, 9070, or 9070 XT are all solid choices for your setup! Any of these should give you a big boost in performance.
For 1080p or 2K gaming, you can consider the 5070 or 9070. If you're looking into budget 4K gaming, the 5070 Ti or 9070 XT would work. I'd suggest going for NVIDIA cards unless the AMD options are significantly cheaper. Just a heads up, the 5070 Ti might be a challenge to find at that price; you might end up paying around $800-850 instead.
If you're looking for a good upgrade, I recently picked up a used EVGA 3080 ti for about $750 CAD, and it's been fantastic for my gaming sessions! You might want to check out local listings for deals like that.
I recommend the RX 9070 non-XT hands down. If you can’t find that, the 7900 XT is also a great choice if it fits within your $700 budget. Both are powerful options!
Thank you!! That's super helpful.
Thank you for the suggestion!
