Looking for Graphics Card Upgrade Advice

Hey everyone! I'm considering upgrading my PC's graphics card and power supply because I'm not super knowledgeable about hardware. Currently, I have an iBuyPower PC with a 500 GB storage, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650, 8 GB RAM, and a 12th Gen Core i3-12100f processor. I mainly play MMOs on a 1440p monitor, and while it handles basic games pretty well, I struggle with titles that need more processing power and a stronger graphics card.

A friend recommended the RTX 4080 along with a 1200W power supply. I want to know if that's a good choice and what brands and models you all suggest. Also, where's the best place to snag these parts? My budget is around $600 to $1000, but if necessary, I can save a bit longer. I live in the USA, and I'm a little nervous about installing everything myself, but I'm sure I can manage. Any recommendations would be super helpful!

If you're looking for alternatives, the AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT is another good choice that might come in cheaper than the RTX 4080 while still delivering great performance for gaming. Just make sure your case supports the new card's length, as some of the higher-end ones can be pretty big!

Yeah, definitely check the dimensions! And don't shy away from used or refurbished models if you're okay with that kind of purchase; they can save you a ton.

First, your current setup looks decent but definitely not enough for more demanding titles. An RTX 4080 would be a great upgrade, but it can be on the pricier side—like you mentioned, prices can skyrocket. If you're not set on an RTX 4080, consider something like the RTX 3070 or 3080, which are also strong performers and might come in under budget. As for power supply, a reliable 850W from brands like Corsair or EVGA would do the trick without breaking the bank. Check places like Newegg or Amazon for good deals!

I’d also suggest keeping an eye on sales—sometimes you can find great bundles! Don't forget to check local computer shops too; they might have some competitive pricing.
