Looking for Guidance on Learning to Code: Where to Start?

I'm just starting out on my coding journey, and honestly, I'm feeling a bit lost. I've watched countless YouTube videos, but they seem to complicate things more than they help. I want to start from the basics and gradually learn Python and JavaScript. What are some YouTube channels or resources I should follow? Additionally, I'm unsure about where to write my code. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Honestly, I'd suggest skipping the YouTube rabbit hole for now and checking out some books. They provide a structured way to learn that can really help you grasp the basics. For coding directly, it might be better to install the necessary software on your computer instead of relying on web-based environments, which can be limiting.

I think a great starting point is the Harvard CS50 course on YouTube. It’s free and really thorough. Don't worry if you're feeling overwhelmed; it's totally normal! Knowing what you want to create will help you decide which language to focus on. For games, you might want to look into whether Python or JavaScript fits your vision!

I'm interested in making a game, but I'm unsure which language to choose.
