Hi everyone! I'm fortunate enough to have a high budget of $2500, and I'm on the hunt for a top-tier PC that can handle video editing and run any game smoothly. I'm open to both prebuilt and custom options, as long as they stay under my budget. I'd really appreciate any recommendations you might have. Thanks in advance!

At this point, that budget would barely get you a high-quality RAM upgrade! It's such a wild market right now.
With $2500, you're aiming for a lot, especially since I budgeted similarly and ended up spending around $3500. You might find some great deals on used components or systems if you're quick and set up alerts on sites like Craigslist. Just be ready to compromise a bit on specs for that price range.
Thanks, that’s super helpful! What do you have in your setup? What games do you play, and do you do any video editing?
Right on! I had similar thoughts when I was building mine.
Honestly, it might be better to wait a bit before buying. Right now isn't the best time to build a new PC, especially if you can hold off until March. How do you think the market will look by then?
I'm hoping it improves! I’ve been on consoles for a while since my last PC died, and I’m itching to get back into gaming.
Yeah, I agree! Just holding off might save you some cash or get you a better deal.
Given the current economy, I'd suggest looking at prebuilt systems. Some are still available at decent prices. Just be cautious about power supply quality—you don't want to repeat past mistakes like with my previous CyberPower experience!
Totally! But it seems like many prebuilt options have subpar PSUs. I can always upgrade that later if I need to.
That budget would typically have covered a high-end build, but now that you've mentioned editing, you'll want a solid 64GB DDR5 RAM. So, perhaps consider adding another $500-$1000 to that budget if you really want to do it right!
Just a quick question—do you already have your monitor, keyboard, and mouse, or do you need suggestions for those too? Also, what's your focus on editing hardware—are you leaning more toward 1440p or 4k?
I should've included that—sorry! I want to game and edit at 1440p but 4k is a bonus. I have a 1440p monitor with a Logitech mouse and Razer keyboard, but I’m likely going to upgrade those.

Tell me about it! It's frustrating, isn't it?
