Looking for Insights on Patching Platforms: NinjaOne, Automox, and Microsoft

Hey everyone! My company is currently evaluating options for a new patching platform as our existing solution isn't cutting it anymore. We want to address several key issues as we make the switch:

1. **Reporting**: We're struggling with visibility, and while we can integrate with something like Grafana, our current setup is lacking in reporting capabilities.

2. **CVE Resolution**: Our current CVE process is disjointed. We need a solution that clearly indicates the CVE issues per system and provides remediation steps, plus reports on the outcomes of those efforts.

3. **Database Patching**: We need to patch both MS SQL and PostGres. Right now, our SQL team is doing a lot of this manually, and we want to automate as much as possible, ideally through pre/post scripting.

4. **Third Party App Patching**: From small apps like Notepad++ to larger platforms such as .NET and Java, we want a versatile solution. We're using Chocolatey, so compatibility with that would be a bonus.

We've narrowed it down to NinjaOne, Automox, and Microsoft. I'm looking for your experiences with these platforms – what do you like, what don't you like, and any insights you wish you had before settling on one? Appreciate your thoughts!

What exactly do you mean by Microsoft? It seems vague!

I’m curious about your current patching platform. Lots of folks seem happy with Automox, Action1, and NinjaOne. That's where a lot of the recommendations are coming from!

We use Cyberwatch for prioritizing CVEs and WAPT for patching and reporting – they've been solid choices for our needs.

We’re switching to NinjaOne mainly for RMM and MDM features. It takes a bit more time to set up, but it’s definitely more powerful in larger and more complex environments.

I used Automox a while back, and it worked well for our needs. Currently, we're on Action1, which covers everything on your list and is pretty straightforward to manage.
