Hey everyone! I've been getting a bit fed up with the usual big tech companies like Microsoft and Google, so I've decided to make the switch to Linux. I've had some exposure to Linux in college since we mostly use Ubuntu there for my CS classes, but I've never used it on my personal machine. A few folks, including my Windows-hating professor, suggested going for a dual-boot setup with Ubuntu.
The thing is, I find Ubuntu's interface pretty unappealing. Having used Windows for so long, I appreciate the aesthetics, and I know it might sound trivial, but a visually pleasing OS is important to me. Recently, I've been really drawn to KDE Plasma's beautiful design and I want to use it!
So, I'm wondering if anyone can recommend some beginner-friendly distros that support KDE Plasma for someone transitioning from Windows?

By the way, if you're looking for search tips, DuckDuckGo is a good alternative to Google for finding resources. But remember, a lot of common distro questions might already have answers online, so make sure to do a little searching yourself! You have a ton of resources at your fingertips – don’t hesitate to dig!
If you’re open to alternatives, you might want to check out Linux Mint with the Cinnamon desktop; it’s quite beginner-friendly. However, for KDE fans, Fedora and Manjaro are great options, although Manjaro can be a bit tricky as a first distro. Just think about what works best for you!
You can actually install KDE Plasma on pretty much any Linux distro you choose, but it might take a little bit of extra work. If you want a more straightforward experience, I suggest trying Kubuntu – it’s like Ubuntu but with KDE Plasma out of the box. There's also Fedora with KDE if you’re looking for options. Personally, I’m a fan of Endeavour OS; it’s easy to set up and offers several choices during installation, making it pretty user-friendly.
