I'm planning to switch from Windows 10 to Linux and want a laptop with a display size around 18 inches. I'm hoping to find something that runs Linux natively, but if I have to consider Windows laptops, I need ones that are known to be compatible with Linux. My usage will mainly involve basic browsing and watching videos, possibly some older games, and I'd like to keep my budget under $2000. Any recommendations or tips would be greatly appreciated!

Pretty much any modern Windows laptop should work fine with Linux. If you're concerned about driver compatibility, it’s good to check out some reviews before you buy. Don't stress too much—most hardware is supported!
Most laptops these days are generally compatible with Linux, so your choice is wide! Just be wary of the display size. If you don’t need to be mobile with it, consider a smaller device and invest in an external monitor later.
Finding a laptop with an 18" display might be tricky since it's not a very common size. If you meant something between 16-18 inches, that might open up your options. Have you thought about the Framework 16"? It works great with Linux. Just make sure to specify your budget since it helps narrow down the choices!

I'm aiming to keep it under $2000. 17.3" would definitely be doable if 18" is hard to find, as I want a large screen for watching videos.
