Looking for Linux Laptop Recommendations with Pre-installed OS

I've been really concerned about privacy with Windows and I'm in the market for a new laptop. I've heard good things about Linux, and while I'm not super techy (I can do some basic Java), I'm okay with the learning curve that comes with switching to Linux. I need something I can easily take to college, particularly since I'm majoring in math, which may require different software downloads—though I mostly want to use Linux. So, are there any laptops that come with Linux pre-installed? I'd love some recommendations!

I've had several laptops, and honestly, many of them work out of the box with Linux. Just make sure to check any compatibility lists online before buying, especially concerning graphics. That way, you won't run into any driver issues later on!

Check out r/linuxhardware for suggestions on good laptops. While there might not be a lot of options for 'good' laptops that come with Linux pre-installed, that's not the worst thing! Everyone has different preferences for distributions, and choosing one yourself is half the fun. I've found installing Linux simpler than Windows most of the time! As long as you’re not diving into something complex like Arch, you should be fine!

If you’re willing to spend a bit more, Tuxedo (from Germany) and System76 (in the USA) offer laptops that come with Linux pre-installed, specifically tailored for their hardware. They’re excellent options if budget allows.

Almost any laptop can run Linux, but the key is to watch out for NVIDIA graphics—those can be tricky and require special drivers to install. I used to have a Mac, and while it was nice, I always felt pressured to upgrade. With Windows, I don’t get that vibe at all. Honestly, pick a laptop you like and just install Linux on it yourself!
