Looking for My First PC Build on a Budget

Hey everyone! I run an online fitness business and typically recycle gaming laptops every few years, but now I want to build my very first PC and I feel a bit lost with all the parts to choose from. My budget is around CAD 1500 to 2000, and I plan to visit Memory Express in Calgary since it's nearby and I prefer shopping in person.

My goal is to create a PC that can handle playing games like Rainbow Six Siege, Battlefield, Call of Duty, and sports games such as Madden. Currently, my Asus G14 overheats too much, and I'd like to reserve it for business stuff only. The new desktop would be for gaming, video editing, and some programming work for clients.

While I could potentially spend more, I'd prefer to keep the build practical and budget-friendly. Any suggestions for components or a complete build would be greatly appreciated! Thanks a bunch! 🙂

For your budget, you can build a solid PC! I'd recommend going for a Ryzen 5 CPU paired with a decent graphics card like an RTX 3060 or RX 6700 XT. This setup should handle your gaming needs well and give you enough power for video editing. Don’t forget about a good cooling system since you're concerned about overheating! Memory-wise, 16GB of RAM is a solid choice. Make sure to check compatibility when you’re picking parts!

Definitely! An SSD will speed up your system and improve load times in games.

That's helpful, thanks! Do you think I should go for SSD storage as well?
