I'm looking to upgrade my PC because I'm facing some issues with my RAM and I have an outdated CPU. Here's what I currently have: an i7 8700 processor, MSI B360 motherboard, 16GB of RAM, a 250GB M.2 SSD, 2TB HDD, and an RTX 3070. I want to upgrade the case, power supply, motherboard, RAM, and SSD, but I want to keep my existing CPU. I do a bit of gaming and video editing, so I need something that performs well. My budget is around $650, but I can stretch it a little if needed. Any suggestions?

Yeah, I think the other suggestions are solid. Upgrading from that i7, which is nearly 8 years old now, is something to consider eventually.
Just a heads up, while you're replacing those components, consider upgrading your CPU as well in the future. That i7-8700 could bottleneck newer GPUs and limit performance gains.
Check out this suggested build:
- AMD Ryzen 5 7600X CPU - $170
- Thermalright Assassin King SE ARGB Cooler - $18.59
- MSI PRO B650M-P Motherboard - $129.99
- Silicon Power 32GB DDR5 RAM - $82.97
- TEAMGROUP 1TB NVME SSD - $58.49
- Cooler Master Q300L Case - $39.99
- Montech 850W Power Supply - $89.90
Totaling around $590, this setup should give you a solid performance boost for both gaming and video editing!
Wow... almost a whole PC built for just under $600. Impressive! If you're not replacing the GPU, you're doing great with your budget.
Thanks for this! I'm definitely going to look into these parts.

Oh, I must clarify, I'm not looking to change the GPU—just the other parts. My bad for the confusion!
