I'm ready to make the switch from VMware this year, for several reasons. I've enjoyed working with Debian-based systems for a long time and have a couple of years' experience with Proxmox at my homelab. I appreciate that Proxmox's business strategy doesn't push customers toward cloud solutions exclusively. However, my lack of enterprise experience with Proxmox makes me a bit cautious. I'm leading a small IT team at a small-to-medium business and we've relied on an excellent local managed service provider (MSP) for support. However, this MSP is very Windows-focused, which won't help us much if we run into trouble with Proxmox. I'm also still considering Hyper-V as an option. Currently, I'm gathering quotes and looking for a comprehensive support package as our hardware is aging. I'm hoping to find a Proxmox partner that can provide new servers, storage solutions, migration assistance, and ongoing support. We're located in midcoast Maine and I'd love any recommendations or experiences from others in the area who have gone through this process.

Has anyone here migrated a SQL cluster successfully? How was that process for you?
We're transitioning our VMware environment to Proxmox, and in our lab, we've faced no significant issues. We're refreshing our hardware at the same time, which has made the migration smoother. We're going with three R660's and a pure storage array, opting for NFS over iSCSI since we previously used R640's with a Nimble storage array.
Although they're a bit further away, 45Drives has been fantastic for hardware and Ceph support for us. They started offering Proxmox support a couple of years ago and have specialized packages for HCI setups. Sales have been great, and their support response time has always impressed me. We've got 14 servers running from them, and they've been reliable.
