I'm in the market for two 27-inch OLED monitors for my office setup, which uses an Ergotron arm. While I have no budget restrictions, I need to make a decision by the end of next week. My primary use will be reading records and journals, but I also want to dabble in a bit of gaming. I've been researching WOLED and QDOLED technology and have come across terms like fringing and purple blacks. I'd love to hear your thoughts and recommendations!

If your main focus is office work, I’d steer clear of OLED. While the latest models have improved regarding burn-in, they still have issues that you won’t find with LCDs. Also, for reading text, older OLEDs can exhibit color fringing, especially on letters, which can be distracting. Unless you're gaming a lot, the advantages of OLED might not be worth it for your needs.
If you're thinking of alternatives to OLED, maybe look into the Dell UltraSharp U2725QE 27" monitor. I tend to worry about LCD panels because of issues like light bleed, which I find really frustrating. I've heard that the LG model might also have some edge-lighting problems with black uniformity. I might just hold out for those new RGB stripe OLEDs that are expected to release soon.
Consider going for two LG 27G850A-B monitors. These are 27-inch, 4K, 240Hz panels with a 1080p 480Hz mode for gaming. They’re not OLED, and I wouldn't recommend OLED for your situation unless you plan to do a lot of gaming or watching movies. The IPS Black technology they use gives decent contrast and ensures text clarity.
