Hey everyone, I'm really at my wit's end with routers. I've tried what were supposed to be 'the best' options, but they always end up disappointing, even compared to the stock router I had before. The struggle is real! Setting them up often feels like rocket science, and I can't stand mesh WiFi anymore after a series of bad experiences.
I need your help finding a solid WiFi 6 router that's easy to set up and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. I'm looking for something robust enough to handle multiple connections, like those routers used in public places. I'm interested in performance over brand names too, as they tend to be the problem. If there's a possibility of getting something like a WiFi 6E router at a reasonable price, that would be great as well! Just want a strong signal that works consistently without the hassle. Thanks in advance!

You might want to consider building your own router if you're tech savvy enough. It sounds complex, but it really isn't! I set up a system in a couple of hours that worked perfectly for me. You can get multiple wired and wireless options for your needs. If that seems like too much, try off-the-shelf routers that support open source firmware like DD-WRT or Tomato — they can unlock some really useful features! Just a thought!
Honestly, mesh networks can be a pain if your router is far from where you need the signal, like in another room. If you're set on getting a traditional router, just plug it into your power and modem, and you should be good. But maybe share your room layout so we can help you better? Let us know what your actual internet setup looks like too!
Yeah, definitely try out the best of the best and if it doesn’t work, return it! Also, what internet service are you on? Because that can affect the whole situation too!
