Our organization is currently using a Dell Data Domain for backup storage, but it's nearing the end of its life and will no longer be supported. We're exploring options and would love to hear from this community about different vendors and products for enterprise backup storage solutions. We prefer not to go with cloud backups, but we definitely want features like immutability and encryption, as well as any other important features we might not have considered. I'd like to hear your opinions on which brands we should consider, any that we should avoid, and what you think generally makes a good backup storage solution. Thanks for sharing your insights!

Consider WholesaleBackup; you can use it either as a self-hosted solution or pair it with Wasabi, B2, or C2 storage. They offer a fair pricing model and you can white label the service, plus their support team is based in the US.
Are you only in the market for a storage system, or are you looking for a complete backup solution? If it's the latter, I'd recommend checking out NetBackup on Flex appliances, as they offer robust options.
We recently implemented a couple of Exagrid appliances as repositories for Veeam backups and they've been performing really well. The setup was straightforward, and you get dedicated support if needed. Just keep in mind that disk encryption is model-specific, so confirm that before purchasing. Overall, Veeam recognizes it as an additional repository effortlessly, and the backup speed is impressive since it writes to a non-deduplicated area first before transferring it to the immutable, deduped section.
I appreciate the heads-up about the encryption model! I’ve read good things about ExaGrid, so it sounds like a solid option for us.
Just focused on the storage system for now, but I’ll check out your suggestion!
