Looking for Recommendations on RMM Systems

I'm currently on the hunt for a new Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) system because my experience with N-Central has been less than stellar. We're actually getting better results with Windows patching set to default, so it seems like it might be time for a change. I've looked into a few systems, including Kace, Datto, ConnectWise, and ActionOne. I'd love to hear from anyone who's used these systems before. Ideally, I want a solution that lets me create custom reports and automate tasks based on filters or groups, handle patch scheduling, provide remote support, and allows for running install scripts.

For example, if a group of machines is running low on C Drive space, I want a script that can clean up temp files and manage Windows updates to free up some space. We're running into the classic "promised x but got y" scenario, and our environment primarily runs on Windows. A key feature for us is single sign-on (SSO) for authentication with Microsoft.

Any suggestions or experiences would be hugely appreciated as we spend the next couple of weeks trying to get N-Central functioning properly! Thanks!

Have you considered using Microsoft Intune? It’s excellent for managing policies, although it usually works best alongside an RMM solution. Plus, the speed of Intune is impressive.

Yeah, I've always thought Intune plays nicely with RMM tools too! It's a great option for policy enforcement.

If patching is your main concern, ActionOne does a fantastic job, possibly the best. However, it's not a full RMM. If you're after a complete solution, NinjaOne is your go-to for that.

If reporting is a priority for you, I wouldn't go for ActionOne. The reporting features are lacking, and they've been promising updates that never seem to come. You might want to look into alternatives on that front!

Thanks for the heads up! We definitely need solid reporting. Do you have any other systems in mind?

I haven’t tried the options you mentioned, but I’d recommend checking out NinjaOne. It ticks all the boxes you're looking for and actually delivers on its promises.

I totally agree! NinjaOne is the best I've come across. You might want to steer clear of Datto and ConnectWise, though—they didn't live up to my expectations at all!

From my experience, I'd avoid Datto. We're currently using ConnectWise, and although it has its strengths, the interface can be a bit tricky. NinjaOne is definitely the way to go if you want something user-friendly!
