I'm thinking about getting a backup device like a Synology server. I'm curious if Synology has built-in software to back up Microsoft products such as SharePoint and Azure VMs. Additionally, can it back up local Windows file servers? We're definitely looking for a rack-mount unit, and I'd like to know what kind of hard drives are recommended—should we go for SSD? Also, we'll need at least 16TB of storage once we factor in RAID.

I recommend starting with your value-added reseller (VAR) for the best advice specific to your needs. Also, just a heads-up: don't rely on Synology as your main production storage. It's more reliable to use it as backup, not primary.
What does VAR mean?
