I've been searching online for a 5700 or 5800X3D CPU everywhere I can think of, including eBay and Alibaba, but everything is out of my budget. I'm mainly using my PC for gaming, and currently, I have a 3700X. I'm hoping to find an alternative that would give me a noticeable improvement in my gaming experience if I can't get those specific CPUs. By the way, I have a 6900XT GPU, so I'm looking for something that pairs well with that.

You might want to check out the 5900X, which is available new on Amazon for about $368. Or, if you're lucky, you might find a used one at a better price. Honestly, if you're looking for something cheaper, the 5700X at around $200 is a solid choice too. It should give you a 15-20% performance boost, and on the AM4 platform, your options are pretty limited. Just a heads up, the 5900X does run hot, so you'll need a good cooler for that.
Just so you know, the 5900X isn't the best for gaming situations. If you're focused on gaming, I really think the 5700X is your best bet. Although, fun fact: the 5600X actually outperforms the 5700X in some games based on benchmarks I've seen. So that could be an option worth considering!
Have you checked if there's a Microcenter near you? They've got a bundle deal for a $500 12900K that comes with a CPU, motherboard, and 32GB DDR5 RAM. The CPU alone is usually worth about $300, and its performance is pretty comparable to the 5800X3D. You could always sell your current CPU, motherboard, and RAM to make this a $200 upgrade.
