I'm planning to upgrade my old PC into a server, possibly for gaming or running LLMs. I want to install two GPUs: an AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT for gaming and an NVIDIA RTX 3070 for rendering tasks. Will these two GPUs work well together in one PC? Also, I'm considering the Phanteks Evolv X2 case for its aesthetics but am not sure if it has enough airflow for this setup. If not, I'm looking at the HAVN HS 420 instead. Here's my full build so far: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, Motherboard: GIGABYTE X870E AORUS Pro Ice, PSU: Phanteks Revolut 1200W Platinum, RAM: Corsair 32GB DDR5 CL30. Any recommendations on cases or advice on compatibility?

You might want to ensure your motherboard has x8 x8 PCIe lanes so the RTX 3070 doesn't get limited to x4 speeds. It's crucial for performance, especially in a dual GPU setup. Have you looked at motherboards that support this?
The GIGABYTE motherboard you mentioned might not fit two GPUs well unless you use a single-slot card for the second GPU. The 3070 takes up a dual-slot space, blocking the I/O. So, yes, switching motherboards is necessary for that dual GPU setup to work.
Got it, so I'll need a different motherboard to make it work with both AMD and NVIDIA GPUs.
Consider the Phanteks Enthoo Pro 2 Server Edition case. It's designed for multi-GPU setups with 11 PCI slots and excellent cooling support, plus it includes anti-sag support for multiple GPUs, so you won’t have to worry about clearance issues.
Yeah, I realized I might need that since my current setup would block the bottom I/O. Any specific motherboards you would recommend that have those x8 x8 lanes?
