Hey everyone! I'm having a bit of a hard time because my desk is way taller than my monitor, and it's making it tough to use. I really want to find a solution that works. My desk is a roll top, so the usual monitor arms that attach to the back won't cut it. There's a small lip on the side, so I'm wondering if I should consider mounting the monitor there, but I'd rather not have to modify the desk itself.
Also, do all wall-mounted monitor arms need to be anchored to studs? Moving furniture around can be like a game of Jenga, and while I can rearrange some things, I don't want to put my boyfriend through too much hassle just for my computer setup. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Have you thought about adding a footrest? It could help with the height issue if your chair doesn't adjust high enough. Sometimes that can make a big difference!
Most monitor mounts do require anchoring into studs for stability, so that’s something to keep in mind. I actually faced a similar issue with my setup. I ended up using a small piece of plywood to bridge the gap between the studs, and then I attached pegboard over that for added storage and easier cable management. It worked out really well!
That sounds like a great solution! I think I might give that a shot. Thanks for the advice!

I wish! Unfortunately, my chair doesn't go up high enough, which is such a bummer. I'm trying to keep my hopes up but it feels like I'm stuck for now.
