Hey everyone! I'm planning to upgrade my PC due to some issues with my RAM and the fact that my current CPU feels outdated. Here's what I currently have: Intel i7 8700, MSI B360 motherboard, 16GB of RAM, a 250GB M.2 SSD, a 2TB HDD, and an RTX 3070. I'm looking to upgrade my case, power supply, motherboard, RAM, and SSD, but not the CPU. I do a bit of gaming, and I also do some video editing. My budget is around $650, but I can stretch it a bit if needed. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

The suggestions here are solid! Just a heads up, the i7-8700 is about eight years old now. An upgrade for that CPU would really help with performance overall.
Check out this build I put together using PCPartPicker:
- **CPU**: AMD Ryzen 5 7600X - $170
- **CPU Cooler**: Thermalright Assassin King SE ARGB - $18.59
- **Motherboard**: MSI PRO B650M-P - $129.99
- **Memory**: Silicon Power XPOWER Zenith 32GB DDR5-6000 - $82.97
- **Storage**: TEAMGROUP MP44L 1TB SSD - $58.49
- **Case**: Cooler Master MasterBox Q300L - $39.99
- **Power Supply**: Montech CENTURY II 850W - $89.90
Total: $589.93! You could almost get a whole new setup for under $600!
Thank you! I'm definitely going to look into this.
I definitely agree with the recommendation to upgrade your CPU when you can. The i7-8700 is showing its age, and it could bottleneck some newer GPUs if you decide to upgrade further down the line.
Oh, my bad! I meant to say I’m not upgrading the GPU right now. Thanks for the tip!
Wow... almost a whole PC built for just under $600. Impressive. Just keep in mind, if you need a new GPU in the future, that could increase the cost significantly.
