Hey everyone! I'm reaching out for some advice on upgrading my gaming PC. It's been several years since I've built this rig, and while it has served me well, I've been noticing a decline in performance, especially with newer games like Battlefield 6. Here are my current specs:
- CPU: Intel i7 6700K at 4.00GHz
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080
- Motherboard: MSI B150 PC Mate
- RAM: 16GB
- Storage: 2TB (not worried about this part)
I'm mainly hoping to boost my graphics performance and overall FPS, as I'm not getting the experience I want in titles like Red Dead Redemption 2, Battlefield 6, and The Last of Us Part 2. My budget for upgrades is around $2000, and I plan to make these upgrades over the next few months. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks and have a great day or night!

Honestly, before you throw cash into upgrades, consider if your current parts are even worth it. If you want a noticeable performance boost, you might want to look at getting a new GPU first. The GTX 1080 is decent, but with newer games, it can struggle. Depending on availability, you might find good GPUs like the RTX 3060 or even the RTX 3070 in your budget range.

That makes sense! I guess I'm just worried about spending a lot and not seeing enough improvement. I'll look into those GPU options first for sure.
