Hey everyone, I'm using some older software that integrates with our external webcams, and I'm looking to upgrade it with a virtual background feature for the video stream. We've tried ManyCam, but it's a bit pricey and may have more features than we need. Does anyone have recommendations for more affordable software that can handle adding virtual backgrounds to webcam feeds and sending it to other applications?

Have you looked into OBS? It's a great option for this kind of need.
OBS has tons of features! One neat thing is its support for the NDI protocol, which allows you to take video input from various sources or even other PCs running OBS. This could be super useful if you're doing something fancy for a Teams meeting since the Live Event type accepts NDI as an input.
You could try OBS or XSplit VCam. Both are solid choices for virtual backgrounds.
With OBS, you can actually use it without extra plugins if your users are okay with a green or blue screen and just chroma keying out the background. There's also a plugin for OBS to help with virtual greenscreen, though I haven't personally tested it. Plus, if your team has NVIDIA RTX GPUs, they should check out NVIDIA Broadcast for some awesome features!
You might want to check out VCam.ai (formerly XSplit VCam). It’s free to try, but it does have a watermark. If you like it, you can grab a lifetime license for $69. They also have a new Pause Loop feature in beta, which is pretty neat if you need to step away for a moment!
