Looking to Build a Powerhouse for Minecraft: 50 GPUs and CPU Advice Needed!

Hey everyone! I'm diving into an epic Minecraft adventure and have a budget of $40,000. My goal is to render the game with realistic, 1:1 sized landscapes, and I'm planning to load in all the chunks for some breathtaking distances. I've built one computer before but consider myself pretty savvy, so here's my question: if I want to get 50 GPUs, how many CPUs will I need and what specific models should I go for? I understand there's more to consider later, but I'm starting with this. Thanks for your help!

With that budget, you could create an amazing setup! For CPUs, think about going with a high-core-count processor like the AMD Ryzen Threadripper. It’ll handle the load much better if you're running multiple GPUs or tasks. But definitely check how many you can run effectively at once!

Definitely! I’ve seen great results with Threadrippers in multi-GPU setups.

Look at you wanting to become a pro! But remember, getting 50 GPUs is a huge undertaking. Make sure to research how Minecraft handles GPU power. It may not even be necessary to go that far. You could get a few high-end GPUs and still have a great experience!

Agreed! Maybe start with a few and see how well they perform before going all out.

Wow, that’s a hefty budget! Are you planning to connect all 50 GPUs to one machine or spread them across several builds? Also, keep in mind that Minecraft might not fully utilize multiple GPUs, so you might want to look into whether that’s even feasible. Just a heads up!

Yeah, I’m curious about that too! It might save some headache if you distribute them rather than trying to cram them into one setup.
