Hey everyone! I recently got a Pop!_OS Linux laptop specifically for 2D animation, but I'm struggling to find good software options in the app store. Most of my favorite tools only work on Windows or macOS, and I'm hesitant about installing Windows on my Linux setup. Also, I'm a gamer, but I've discovered that a lot of my game library isn't compatible without Windows either. Did I make a mistake with this purchase? Is there a better Linux distribution for gaming and animation, or can my current setup suffice? Thanks for any tips or advice!

For your Steam games, definitely look into Proton and Wine. They can help you play a lot of games on Linux with just a few tweaks. You may find some compatibility options in the settings that make playing those games a breeze!
You might want to check out Blender for 2D animation—it's fantastic for that! Even though I’m not an artist myself, I've seen some incredible works created with it. You can grab it from your package manager or directly from their website. It's cross-platform, too! If you're looking for simpler tools, there's GIMP and mtPaint, but they aren't specifically for animation. Good luck!
That's great advice! I've tried those tools before, and Blender's grease pencil is a game-changer for 2D work.
