I'm looking to make a complete switch to Linux after some frustrating experiences with Windows, especially with OneDrive recently. I have some familiarity with the Linux terminal and bash scripting, so I'm not a total newbie. My main requirements for an OS are: it should support running LaTeX compilers without much hassle during installation, be compatible with VSCode for programming, provide a decent GUI experience, and ideally be able to run CS2 since I've had issues with NVIDIA drivers in the past on Ubuntu 20.04. I'm considering going back to Ubuntu for its straightforward setup, but I'm open to any recommendations. Also, any tips on reliably backing up my data would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hey there! It's exciting to see you ready to switch! From what you've mentioned, your needs should be well-supported on pretty much any distro. Just a quick check: do you have an NVIDIA GPU? If so, which model? That's important for compatibility.
I have an RTX 3050 on my laptop. That's actually why I moved to Windows in the first place. I'll definitely consider your suggestions on distributions!
