I'm planning to upgrade from my 1080Ti since it's starting to show its age. I game on a 1440p 170Hz monitor and I'm not targeting any specific games, but I want something that gives me broad performance without a lot of driver issues. Right now, I have a Ryzen 5600x, but I'm also thinking about a full platform upgrade along with the GPU swap. I'm considering these options: 5070 ($540), 9070 ($600), 9070 XT ($700), and 5070 Ti ($750). Also, my local Micro Center has a 7900XTX for $700, so I could add that to my list. If I go with an NVIDIA card, I plan to get a PSU with a 12VHPWR connector since my current one is nearing 10 years old and probably needs replacing anyway. Any advice would be appreciated!

If you ask me, the 5070 Ti is the best option right now, especially for 1440p. I've always preferred NVIDIA over AMD due to fewer driver issues I've encountered. I picked up a 5070 Ti recently, and it's a beast for 1440p gaming with zero complaints so far!
I've also had solid performance with my 1080Ti in many recent titles, but games requiring Ray Tracing, like Doom the Dark Ages, just won’t run. So I feel you on this upgrade necessity!
Definitely consider the 5070 Ti or even just the 5070; they give you the best bang for your buck. AMD has some strong options, but their prices aren't competitive enough to recommend at higher levels right now. Plus, avoid 8GB cards since upcoming games will likely demand more VRAM.
Between the AMD and NVIDIA cards, I'd lean toward the 5070 series based on those prices. The AMD cards are solid, but their pricing isn't quite as good unless they drop closer to MSRP.

I have a 1080Ti as well, and I struggle to hit 60 fps on newer games at 1440p even with lower settings. So waiting for the next generation feels tough, but I think the 5070 Ti could really be worth it!
