Looking to Upgrade My Budget Gaming PC

I recently purchased a used gaming PC for $350, and while it works fine, I'm eager to make some upgrades to enhance my gaming and 3D animation experience. Here are the current specs:

- CPU: Intel Core i3-9100f
- GPU: Nvidia GTX 1650
- HDD: ST500LM034-2GH17A
- RAM: 8GB (single stick)
- Motherboard: Asrock H130CM-IB

I also have a 2TB PS4 external drive for extra storage. Given my specifications and limited knowledge about PC components, what upgrades would you suggest for better performance?

Honestly, the biggest upgrade you can make is swapping out that old HDD for a solid-state drive (SSD). It'll make your system feel a lot faster, and you can use the HDD for extra storage. After that, looking into a better CPU would be worthwhile, but keep in mind you'll likely need a new motherboard and RAM for that, which adds to the cost. A nice option is the Intel i5-9600, but compatibility is key here—better double-check that with your current board.

Yeah, upgrading the motherboard is nearly like building a new PC from scratch! If you go that route, consider getting two new sticks of RAM for dual-channel performance.

Before anything, what's your budget for upgrades? If you're aiming to spend around $500 total, I'd recommend starting with that SSD. Also, do you know how much power your power supply can handle? That's important for future upgrades.

For sure! Getting a 1TB SATA SSD will completely change your experience, and bumping your RAM to 16GB will definitely help with Blender and gaming.

True! You can check the power supply by opening the case—there's usually a label on it. Just be careful!
