Looking to Upgrade My CPU After a Long Break from Gaming

Hey everyone! I just got back into PC gaming after taking a break for about six years, and I'm feeling a bit lost when it comes to upgrades. I currently have a decent setup with an RTX 5060 8GB graphics card, but I suspect my CPU is bottlenecking my performance. Right now, I'm running an Intel i5 8400. I'm wondering if there's an easy CPU swap I could do, or if I should be looking at a new CPU and motherboard altogether. Here are my current specs:
- 16GB DDR4 RAM
- Intel i5 8400
- RTX 5060

Just wanted to check—are you still within the return window for your RTX 5060? That might be something to consider if you're looking at major changes.

You’ll likely need a new motherboard along with the CPU. Even if you swapped the i5 8400 for the best available option for that socket, you might still end up with a bottleneck. I'd recommend considering something like the Intel i5 13400, 14400, or even the 14600k to really match well with your GPU. AMD options are also solid if that's your preference. You might find some good bundle deals on Newegg that include DDR5 RAM, which could give you an extra boost!

If you’re looking for a more budget-friendly upgrade, you could also look into slightly older Intel or AMD CPUs. Just make sure to check compatibility with your motherboard!
