Looking to Upgrade My Gaming PC – Need Recommendations!

Hey everyone! I'm finally ready to upgrade my PC, which I mainly use for gaming and work. Here's my current setup:

- **Motherboard**: Gigabyte B450 Aorus Elite
- **CPU**: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
- **GPU**: Radeon RX 480 4GB
- **RAM**: 32GB DDR4
- **PSU**: Corsair VS550

Since the GPU is around 8 years old, I think it's time for a change. I'm considering picking up a Ryzen 5000 processor since it should be compatible with my motherboard, and the 5800X is about 170 euros in my area, which seems reasonable.

I'm also thinking about switching to an Nvidia GPU this time due to work-related needs, but I'm unsure what to look for in the current market (4070? 5070? Any suggestions?). Finally, I know I need to replace my 550W PSU for any new upgrades.

Any advice would be really appreciated—thanks!

You definitely need to replace that Corsair VS550; it's not the best quality. Corsair has some solid options like the RM series, or you could go with something from Be Quiet or MSI. It's worth investing in a PSU that will last through multiple upgrades! As for your CPU, check out the 5700X too; it's quite similar to the 5800X but might save you some cash.

In terms of GPUs, look at the RTX 4060 or 5060 Ti depending on your budget. 5060 Ti might be the better long-term choice!

Do you have a rough budget in mind? This can really guide your choices! I’d set aside about 100 euros for the CPU, 100 for the PSU, and then use the rest for the GPU. I’d suggest an AMD 5600 for the CPU and maybe a 4070 or a 5070 for the graphics card. You might also check if you can find a good deal on the 5700X; if not, the 5800X is solid, but the 5600 is cheaper!

I’d say around 700 euros for the GPU and 300 for everything else is a good plan. The 5700X3D is pricey, but the 5600 might be a better option if you can find it for around 100 euros.
