Hey everyone! I'm thinking about upgrading my gaming setup but I'm not sure where to start. I definitely need a new graphics card, but I'm torn between AMD and NVIDIA. I'm mainly gaming at 1080p and aiming for 60fps, mostly sticking to indie games and a few casual AAA titles. Here's my current build which hasn't seen any upgrades since 2018:
- **CPU**: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core
- **CPU Cooler**: Cooler Master Hyper 212 RGB Black Edition
- **Motherboard**: Asus Prime X470-Pro ATX AM4
- **Memory**: Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200
- **Storage**: Seagate BarraCuda 2 TB HDD and Samsung 860 Evo 500 GB SSD
- **Video Card**: Gigabyte GV-N105TOC-4GD GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4 GB
- **Case**: Fractal Design Meshify C
- **Power Supply**: SeaSonic FOCUS Plus 750 Gold 750 W
I'm located in CA, USA and I have a flexible budget of $500-800, but I'm not looking for the absolute best gear. Any thoughts on what I should prioritize?

Your CPU is still solid for 60fps gaming, so definitely focus on upgrading your GPU. That will give you the best performance boost. If you're looking at AMD, something like the Radeon RX 6600 would be great; for NVIDIA, consider the RTX 3060. Both can handle 1080p well and fit your budget.
You might want to think about upgrading not just the GPU, but also storage. A 2TB PCIe Gen 4.0 x4 M.2 NVMe SSD would significantly speed up your load times. As for the CPU, since you’re sticking with 1080p, your Ryzen 5 should suffice for now, but in the future, consider upgrading it too if you ever want to tackle 1440p.
Thanks for the tip! A faster SSD sounds tempting. I'll look into that along with the GPU!
