I've been out of the latest tech loop and need some advice on upgrading my current PC to play newer games smoothly at 1440p with stable 90 fps on ultra settings. Here's my current setup:
- **Motherboard:** Asus TUF Gaming X570-Plus WiFi
- **CPU:** AMD Ryzen 9 5900x
- **RAM:** G Skill Trident Z Royal 32GB DDR4 3600MHz
- **GPU:** Gigabyte Aero RTX 4080 Super OC
- **PSU:** Corsair RM750x Gold
Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Your 4080 Super is still a powerhouse for 1440p gaming, and it can handle many games at 4K quite well. For example, I had decent performance in Far Cry 6 at 4K with a similar setup. I'd recommend waiting for the new 60 series cards before making any big changes.
What specific games are you aiming to play? Some of the latest AAA titles can have performance issues on PC, leading to stuttering. Achieving locked FPS is becoming a bit challenging nowadays.
I'm mostly having problems with Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, Oblivion Remastered, and Mecha Break. Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part.
Is this your current rig you're asking about or is it a future planned upgrade? If it's your current setup, I'd say it looks pretty solid. If you're planning to upgrade, it might be worth considering sticking with the older generation GPU instead of jumping to the upcoming 60 series or 9000 series cards. Also, using PCPartPicker can help check compatibility and local pricing.
This is my current setup. I'm looking to upgrade because I can't run the latest games at my target fps and quality. I'll definitely set up a PCPartPicker list.
Does that mean my CPU is still on par with these newer requirements?
