Lost PSU Cable – Any Options Before Buying a New Power Supply?

I recently upgraded my graphics card, which requires both an 8-pin and a separate 6-pin PCIe connection. I've got the 8-pin cable, but I lost the modular 6-pin cable while moving houses, and it seems like it's nowhere to be found. I have a pretty good Aerocool Project 7 850W PSU, and I'm curious if there's a way to buy or replace the lost cable, especially since I can't find any Aerocool products in Australia anymore. Should I just give up and purchase a new PSU, or is there a workaround?

You could try reaching out to Aerocool directly! However, I’ve found their tech support form can be unreliable. I would suggest checking their Facebook page; sometimes, you can get a better response there.

Yeah, their support form isn’t working for me either, so I’ll try messaging them on Facebook!

If you’re handy, you could always try making your own cable! Just grab a multimeter to ensure you get the pinout right for the connectors. It might take some effort, but it can be a fun project if you’re up for it!

You might want to check out companies like CableMod; they often make custom cables for specific PSUs. Just a heads up, though – shipping costs can be pretty steep in Australia. But it’s worth it if you want to keep your PSU!

Be careful about buying any generic cables since they can vary in compatibility. It's crucial to make sure that whatever you get is specifically designed for the Aerocool Project 7 model to avoid damaging your setup.

Totally agree, I'd definitely need to confirm compatibility before making a purchase.
